Spirit Circles are SpiralGround's weekly gatherings, usually held on Friday evenings in Cumberland County, VA. Our "services" are a mixed bag of activities... and every week is different! Check our online calendar to view details of specific weeks, or visit our Upcoming Events page to see what's on deck in the near future. If you'd like to join us, please send us an email using our Contact Page for all the information! Most weeks we meet at 7:00pm, with dinner being served around 8:00. Many nights dinner is provided; some nights we have potluck suppers. Suggested donation is $5 per person to defray expenses. If it's not too cold or rainy, we have a bonfire; bring your drums, musical instruments, songs, stories, and anything else you wish to use to celebrate! When the weather is really good (or even if it's not, depending on your ration of courage!) you may swim in our beautiful, (usually) tranquil, sandy-bottomed river, so come prepared with towels & toys if you like. Check listings for Spirit Circles that include afternoon activities, too, such as work parties (helping with firewood, setting up for events, etc.,) classes and workshops, book discussions, rehearsals, and the like. Earlybird days, we ask you to bring a picnic lunch. Well behaved children and pets are welcome, with an emphasis on WELL BEHAVED! FYI, there are dogs and cats on the property, for those with allergy concerns. (The dogs come inside periodically, but the cats only do so when they're fast enough to get past us.) There is often "crash space" inside the house, and you are almost always welcome to pitch a tent on the grounds so as not to have to drive home late along dark country roads; RSVP and advance notice is required, please.
